Hawala

Hawala is an informal money transfer system used globally to send funds without physically moving money across borders. Originating in South Asia in the 8th century, it has since spread to regions including the Middle East, Africa, and other parts of Asia (Investopedia). In Hawala transactions, money does not physically change hands; instead, the system operates through a trusted network of brokers.
