Foreign Institutional Investor (FII)
FIIs are entities such as mutual funds, pension funds, or investment trusts based outside India that invest in Indian securities. Under FEMA, their investment is regulated by RBI and SEBI. Though FII and FPI (Foreign Portfolio Investor) are now unified, FEMA still governs the flow of such capital to maintain market stability and transparency.
