Blacklisting

Blacklisting is a policy tool used in international political and economic governance to identify and penalize individuals, entities, or jurisdictions involved in illicit or non-compliant activities. It has been employed in response to events such as the Panama Papers, Russia?s annexation of Crimea, and North Korea?s weapons proliferation. Notable examples include the OECD and FATF blacklisting of financial secrecy havens between 2000 and 2009.
