Structuring (Smurfing)

Structuring, also known as smurfing, is the practice of breaking large financial transactions into smaller amounts to avoid regulatory reporting requirements and detection by authorities. Often used in money laundering schemes, structuring helps criminals disguise the origin of illicit funds by making transactions appear less suspicious.
